The lips of betrayal, speak gentle words of love,
as the lips of lies, speak false - even with angelic eyes. The eyes of betrayal, smile with secret acid,
your heart is black, thoughts to brutalize. O false friend - you finally show your face!
And I marvel at your countenance. Thou art strong and smirking in your revelation,
My mind whirls with the blinding dissonance. How naive was I - this woman of the world!
Who drew you close and held you dear. How stupid, how brainless, how foolish her heart,
to let herself as a friend, be commandeered. You blinded me to your shadowed lips,
and made me deaf, to what I would hear. You swore, you vowed, you made an oath,
So easy for you, so cavalier. I bid you goodbye - and in saying so,
dismiss you with speed from my life. Should my eyes ever sight you again,
I'll turn away, you're gone from my life. |
